Digital Mysteries demonstrated to royalty
A few weeks ago, our Director Dr. Ahmed Kharrufa was delighted to be visited by Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal alongside senior Commonwealth leaders.
During a visit to Newcastle University’s Culture Lab, where Ahmed is a Research Associate, he was invited to demonstrate Digital Mysteries to the visitors.
This involved Ahmed talking Princess Anne through the background behind the software, the learning benefits and how it aims to increase the communication skills of young people from across the world.
"It was great to meet Princess Anne at the event, and I was delighted to demonstrate Digital Mysteries to her. It was also a pleasure to meet the senior Commonwealth leaders and I was really impressed by how well they grasped the concepts behind our software and thoroughly enjoyed discussing its potentials and the implications of using such technologies in different parts of the world” Ahmed said.
We decided to use our Promethean ActivTable to showcase Digital Mysteries which looked fantastic. With there being so many mysteries on various subjects, it was hard to choose which one to use for such an important visit, but we eventually decided on The Roman Retreat, a History mystery about Hadrian’s Wall with its local link.
The event took place on Wednesday 26th March 2014, and you can read more about it on the Evening Chronicle’s website.
